Napoli (Naples)

I went to two places outside of Rome, Napoli (Naples) and Pompeii. I went to a big shopping centre
(Galleria Umberto I) and it was a building with a huge glass dome. It was a very spectacular building.

Naples is one of the oldest cities in the world and it was the most bombed Italian city during World War II.
When we arrived here, there was a light rain. I can still feel this old city.
We started at the Castel Nuovo, and finished in Piazza del Plebiscito.

We had lunch near the ancient and famous city Pompeii. We had nice Italian spaghetti, meat and drinks.
One of the restaurateurs sang “Volare” and “O Sole Mio” which I thought were very impressive.

The next stop was Pompeii and the weather had definitely turned for the better. We had sunshine!

I have not been to Naples yet but the shopping centre reminded me so much of the Gallery in Milan.

I would like to visit Southern Italy before I go back to Asia. ;-)

  18. Naples! paid a visit last november. only stayed a night there but got quite a culture shock when arrived at night.. seemed pretty rowdy.. but in the day it's actually quite interesting. i did feel unsafe walking around at night though. Galleria Umberto I -> pretty amazing interior.. i read and heard about it.. but didn't get to go in.. recall i had to run along as the rain was starting....
