The Shanghai nights were really impressive. The old western-style buildings in
the Bund and along Nanjing Road were architecturally very special for me!
When the lights were turned on, the buildings were gorgeous and spectacular and
they made Shanghai even more charming and attractive.
When you walked around the Bund you could compare the old buildings
with the new constructions. They were really colorful and impressive!

The ancient buildings in the Bund of Shanghai represents the past splendid,
reminds me of some old images of Shanghai.
Pudong on the other side of Shanghai represents the present prosperity,
as Shanghai's new area of brilliant night life.

A Shanghai Night
Shanghai is a nice city!! the song very match the whole post :)
Thanks Yvon S, was very hard to find and chose this song,
ReplyDeletebecause it has many versions, some are really old...
ReplyDeleteWhat would Shanghai look like if it wasn't colonised by foreign countries in the past?
ReplyDeleteWould it still look so "Westernised" as it is today?
Still, you captured the best parts of Shanghai! Very impressive!
Thanks London Caller, Shanghai had the same situation of Hong Kong and Macau,
ReplyDeleteShanghai was important because it was colonised,
I think these places will be totally different
without the western elements and influence!
That's so true.
ReplyDeleteMacau without Portuguese, your pavements wouldn't be so interesting?! Right? I love Portuguese-style pavements.
Have you been to Lisbon? There are also many decorative pavements there.
I also had my authentic Portuguese egg tarts there.
It was really, really yummy!!! Ha ha!
I know the pavements of Macau are the same as Lisbon,
ReplyDeletethose small rocks were transported to here from Portugal!
I was planned to go Lisbon as well when I went to Barcelona,
but the flight and hotel were so dear without booking previously...
Really want to visit Portugal because I can speak portuguese,
I also want to try the real portuguese foods!
i love shanghai!!!!! hohohoho wanna go back...been to the expo already??
ReplyDeleteThanks fufu, I love Shanghai too!
ReplyDeleteHope you can go back to there and visit the
China pavillion, they will perment installed there!
I already came back to Macau, I only went to expo for one day...
Beautiful Shanghai!!! It's everybody's dream to go to Shanghai :) Thanks for sharing, Rafael!
ReplyDeleteThanks Alex! Yeah, Shanghai is always so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteDuring the Shanghai Expo, I believe Shanghai
is the most popular travel place this year!
Hehe...so familiar place...I shot at this place as well during Apr'2010 :D
ReplyDeleteSo tell me what actually happened to you computer when I changed my theme. Why do you have issues with your HTML codes with my change over?
ReplyDeleteIs it a problem from Wordpress?
I sometimes also cannot post my comments in your blog.
But other Blogspot sites seem to work fine.
Yes uLi, I remember you visited Shanghai during April this year!
ReplyDeleteSo these scenes must be memorable for you!
To London Caller,
ReplyDeleteOh, don't worry! Your website work properly!
I just said my blog, may be is the template I use,
I found out many problems, but I already fixed them with those HTML codes,
everytime I was trying to add new function
I need to set many things in the HTML design page...
I'm trying to link my blog to facebook and
add LIKE button recently, I changed the blog
type, intro, preview, etc., very trouble...
You are number one in all that I visit and not worth challenging because it is sincere. Exquisite photos. Amazing!
ReplyDeleteThanks Tossan, I'm flattered with your compliments again!
ReplyDeleteI will keep working hard in my photography,
won't make you disappointed!
ReplyDeleteAh I see, maybe you can consider moving your blog from Blogspot to Wordpress.
ReplyDeleteWordpress is actually very simple.
You don't have to worry about those complicated codes.
It supports many different languages too.
It has about 3G free storage. You can put a lot of pictures, videos there.
But I normally use external storage site.
Eh... How come my blog appeared on Facebook?! Ha ha...
May be I can consider moving my Blogspot to Wordpress,
ReplyDeletebut it will be another mission for me...
That's only the preview of your blog in Facebook,
that's I want to change and add some description,
I can teach you when you want to play facebook, haha!
Ah, when you want to change your platform to Wordpress. They can also help you to move all your old posts into Wordpress, I think.
ReplyDeleteOK, I promise you not to change my theme so often! Ha ha...
Maybe once every month?
Facebook is very addictive!! I have one but I don' want to like it to my personal site. Otherwise, everyone will know my identity! Ha ha... Very secretive one!
I worry will have many problems if I move to Wordpress,
ReplyDeletebecause all my recent pictures are stored in Picasa...
It's ok lar, I already get used to your changing theme rate!
Yeah, facebook is very addictive, because it's very interesting!
Actually have many people want to know your identity,
specially San! Haha!
Fantastic set of images!
ReplyDeleteA view from across the world, which is only one!
Congratulations for the great work.
Thanks ruimnm, I'm glad you like this series of pictures!
ReplyDeleteYour two photography blogs are great,
artistic pictures and nice presentations,
I really appreciate your works!
I haven't been to Shanghai yet... ><
ReplyDeleteYour photos inspire me again to take some night scenery! Impressive Shanghai night lights! :)
ReplyDeleteI use ImageShack at the moment. I used to have Weshots but its quality was not so good.
ReplyDeleteHa ha... Are you thinking to learn Japanese? My Japanese is still rubbish, I have to think a long time to get what I want to come across. But I am getting there.
I am so popular and so many people what to know my true identity? Ha ha... Especially San? Hmm... I always talk a lot of rubbish there. Ha ha... But he likes it, I think?! Ha ha... OK, I will play with you here more often.
splendid night shots rafael! they're so sharp.. were they taken handheld or with tripod?
ReplyDeleteTo Cheryl-Jiaween,
ReplyDeleteOh! You must visit Shanghai once, will be great
because the China Pavilion in Expo will permanent
install there!
Of course you can see the beautiful Shanghai night!
Thanks micki, hope can see your night shots soon!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that you like these Shanghai night shots!
To London Caller,
ReplyDeleteI don't know how about your japanese becasue I can't read it...
but I think you can communicate with japenese blogers already!
I think you make San's blog more popular and funny,
but you don't need to write those rubbish in my blog.
Thanks! Haha!
Thanks lechua! The shots in the Bund and Nanjing Road
ReplyDeletewere taken handheld, because have too
