Rafael's Roma Vacation Episode III - Trevi Fountain

Episode III

Trevi Fountain

Trevi Fountain is the work of Nicola Salvi. It’s a really beautiful place, the statues are bigger
than I expected and just like the Spanish Steps, we came here twice - at the start and the end of the trip.
You can also get a famous gellato ice cream here as well! If you throw coins into the fountain,
it is said you will make a return trip to Rome...I would like to return there!

"A traditional legend holds that if visitors throw a coin into the fountain, they are ensured a return to Rome.
Among those who are unaware that the "three coins" of Three Coins in the Fountain were thrown by three
different individuals, a reported current interpretation is that two coins will lead to a new romance and three
will ensure either a marriage or divorce. A reported current version of this legend is that it is lucky to throw
three coins with one's right hand over one's left shoulder into the Trevi Fountain.

An estimated 3,000 euros are thrown into the fountain each day. The money has been used to subsidize a
supermarket for Rome's needy. However, there are regular attempts to steal coins from the fountain."

I really love that fountain and I did throw a £1 coin into the water. Ha ha... So touristy! Did you go back at night? It's equally mesmerising at night too. I went to back to see many buildings there twice both day and night.

Re: Heaven’s Gate / 天堂的大门 / Pintu Pagar Syurga / 天国のゲート

I come Malaysia originally. I am still Malaysian despite of living in Britain for a long time. Don't know why so many people want to become British... Most of them explain that so they can visit more countries visa-free. That's actually quite sad.

    Re: Venice, Italy / 意大利·威尼斯

I went to visit my university friends. They're really friendly, even put me up for a week at their place! So I had a proper Italian "home stay" experience. We explored most parts of Northern Italy.

I also met my childhood friend, whose family moved to Milan from my hometown in Malaysia. His father was a priest. It was a so good to see him after all these years. His Italian was superb!

Walking along the Thames is one of the most relaxing things to do!

I actually walked back to those places.
My hotel was very near the main railway station, can't remember its name... So it's pretty handy.

Walking is the best way to explore a new place!
